Haverford, PA – At a family town hall in Delaware County, Pa., on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton took questions from Southeast Pennsylvania voters about her agenda to create more opportunities for children and more fairness for families.

  • Joined by her daughter Chelsea and actress Elizabeth Banks, Clinton answered their concerns on topics including our country’s gun violence epidemic, systemic racism and rising college costs with concrete plans to take on the issues that keep families up at night, as opposed to the ill-conceived agenda of Donald Trump.
  • She highlighted her specific plans to make quality affordable child care a reality for families; fight for paid family and medical leaveclose the pay gap and expand early childhood education.

“What I’ve been trying to do in this campaign is really a continuation of what I’ve tried to do throughout my entire life, and that is to do everything possible to put kids and families front and center, to make sure that we provide the opportunities that families deserve to have to have good jobs with rising incomes, the ability to pay for the necessities of life, affordable child care, affordable college – the kinds of things that people talk to me about across America.” – Hillary Clinton

  • Clinton heard from voters about her agenda to support women, children and families and create an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.
  • Clinton’s plans include making quality affordable child care a reality for families, fighting for paid family and medical leave, closing the pay gap and expanding early childhood education.
  • This stands in contrast to the out-of-touch and half-baked ideas of Donald Trump, who would give the most to the wealthy while providing little for middle-class and working families.
  • In attendance at the event was Delaware County resident Amanda Strine, who was recently featured in a Hillary for America radio ad that highlighted Clinton’s lifelong commitment to fighting for children and families.
  • The ad, “Amanda,” tells the story of her daughter, who was diagnosed with two chronic illnesses. Her daughter received health insurance through the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
  • As First Lady, Clinton worked with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to help pass CHIP, which provides health insurance to Amanda’s daughter and more than 8 million children nationwide today.
