UPPER DARBY, Pa. (YC) – Upper Darby Police responded to reports of a stabbing victim Friday afternoon.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Ryan Lamar Greene, was later pronounced dead.
“It appears to be a domestic violence situation that led to his death,” Superintendent Michael Chitwood said Monday.
When police arrived, they located a bloody knife and placed Greene’s 21-year-old girlfriend in custody but she was subsequently released.
Greene allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, “beating her, punching her, kicking her, putting her head in the toilet and flushing it,” Chitwood said.
Police said information provided by the girlfriend is consistent with the scene inside the apartment.
“But it’s still a homicide, and it’s still an open investigation,” Chitwood said.
Upper Darby Police & the Delaware County District Attorneys Office stated no charges would be filed at this time. after a girlfriend stabbed her boyfriend to death Friday afternoon.
The girlfriend told police she was assaulted by Greene several times but never reported it to police.
