Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting that left one man in critical condition Sunday morning following a dangerous series of events.
The shooting happened just after 7 a.m.
Preliminary information states that a man with Maryland tags was driving erratically after striking a pedestrian.
An off-duty Philadelphia Police Detective noticed the vehicle by the intersection of Broad & Bigler Streets in South Philadelphia when he cut the vehicle off.
The detective then opened fire, striking the man several times.
The man reportedly died from the wounds after being rushed to Presbyterian Hospital.
