Donald Trump said Friday Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is his choice to be his running mate. “I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.,” the presumptive Republican nominee tweeted.

- Indiana Governor Mike Pence has been offered the vice presidential slot on his ticket, according to CNN
- The announcement was set for Friday morning, however, Donald Trump postponed it due to the horrible attack in Nice, France

- Mike Pence is deeply religious. Last year, he introduced a religious freedom law in Indiana, which gave business owners a stronger legal defense if they refused to serve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender customers because of their faith
- He signed a controversial anti-abortion law in March 2016, prohibiting women from getting abortions because of the “face, gender, or disability of the fetus,” making Indiana only the second state to enact such a measure
- He’s a former radio DJ who hosted The Mike Pence Show in the 90’s which was a conservative talk radio show
- He has a lot of experience on Capitol Hill as he represented his home state of Indiana in the House of Representatives for six terms, until he was elected governor of Indiana in 2012
