In an appeal to anxious voters, Donald Trump pledged Thursday night that “safety will be restored” if he is elected president, calling out Hillary Clinton as part of a political class causing the nation’s troubles.

- Trump, now 70 years old, closed out the epic Republican National Convention just an hour ago reminding America how deep in poverty, violence, and corruption declaring himself the only person who could avert disaster
- “I have a message for all of you: the crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon come to an end,” Trump said. “Beginning on January 20th, 2017, safety will be restored” basically, he’s saying that he already has the election in the bag
- John Kasich was a no-show, even though he is the sitting Republican governor of the state hosting the convention
- Trump said he would slash taxes, boost infrastructure spending and rescue children struggling in failing schools with one of his key moments being his blanket promise to bring security and safety to the nation
