READING, Pa. (YC) — “We found him laying face up in the water. Parked our kayaks on the bank while on the phone with 911,” Jake Angelilli told YC. Jake was out kayaking when his group discovered a body floating face-up along the banks of the Schuylkill River in Berks County.

After discovering the body, the group parked their kayaks and proceeded to a hill in order to describe their location to the police dispatcher.

It took authorities approximately 25 minutes to locate the group since there was no actual road nearby. Jake mentioned that there was no actual road – just a sewer area pathway nearby.

An orange electrical cord was found wrapped around the railing on a bridge Sunday near Gibraltar Road in Exeter Township, with a denim button down shirt folded next to it. Jake commented that he thought nothing of it at first, as finding a body is not something one would anticipate.

According to police, the body does not match the description of Verret. The victim found this afternoon is described as a white male in his mid- to late 50s or early 60s.

The search for Brad Verret is ongoing and the family is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering any information leading to the discovery of Brad. Please call Reading Police at 610-655-6116 or the Pennsylvania State Police at 610-621-8630 with any information that may help the investigation.
