Chester City hits 29th homicide Friday night before New Years Eve

CHESTER CITY, Pa. (YC) — Police in Delaware County are on the scene of a fatal shooting in Chester City.

The incident happened on the 1100 block of 8th Street just after 7:15 p.m. Friday.

This marks the 29th homicide in Chester for 2017.

Police in Chester City responded to a call for a reported gunshot victim. When police arrived, they found a victim inside of a parked car.

Medics from Crozer-Chester Medical Center arrived and pronounced the victim dead on arrival.

Surrounding departments responded to assist Chester City Police with crowd control.

The homicide is being investigated by Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division and Chester City Detectives.

A man was reportedly shot, execution style, while sitting in his parked car.
