Gunfire erupts early Saturday afternoon during Chester City drive-by shooting

Police in Delaware County are investigating a shooting that sent a victim to the hospital early Saturday afternoon following a drive-by shooting in Chester City.

The gunfire erupted about 1:30 p.m. at 7th and Engle Streets, police said.

Crime Scene Investigators, Chester City Detectives and Police are currently on location.

Several witnesses called 911 to report a drive-by shooting. Police said a vehicle was driving through the neighborhood when it opened fire on the victim.

Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was struck once in the wrist.

The victim, who we are trying to obtain additional information on, is currently being treated at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
