Gunman steals BMW, flees on foot after it catches fire minutes later

Authorities have arrested the suspect who allegedly committed an armed car jacking before ditching the fully engulfed vehicle out front of a typically quiet neighborhood, yc.news has learned.

Police in Ridley Park responded to the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Monday night after reports of an armed carjacking.

Responding officers found a fully engulfed black BMW 7 series on Taylor Avenue and observed a black male fleeing the scene. The vehicle was positively identified as the vehicle stolen approximately two miles away.

There were no reported injuries.
