Marple Police Rescue One Resident from House Fire; Second Passed Away

Police swarmed the 700 block of Saint Francis Drive just before 9 p.m. after reports of a house fire with a bedridden individual inside.

According to preliminary reports, an officer from Marple Township Police Department entered the home and was able to rescue one individual. As the officer went outside, fire personnel were arriving and also made entry.

One resident has passed away, according to a law enforcement source.

Preliminary reports indicate first responders rescued both occupants, one of which was bedridden.
