Several fire departments battling heavy kitchen fire in Havertown

Firefighters are swarming the 2400 block of Linden Drive in Havertown, Delaware County for reports of a heavy residential fire, Your Content has learned.

Crews requested a mayday alert at 5:42 p.m. following a floor collapse in the residence. All firefighters have been accounted for and are being treated by on-scene medical personnel out of an abundance of caution.

Sources on the scene tell Your Content that the floor collapsed in the kitchen of the residence, prompting the mayday alert mandating all firefighters evacuate the premises.

The call came in as a kitchen fire just before 5:40 p.m. but quickly took a turn for the worse as fire rapidly spread.
