Because of COVID-19 restrictions, Air Tahiti Nui is operating Papeete to Paris non-stop – at 15,715 km, it has now become the world’s longest domestic flight, Your Content can exclusively report.
The Boing 787-9 Dreamliner departed from Papeete Tahiti Faa’a Intl’ Airport at 3:10 a.m. Sunday. The tiny airport serves 8 countries and travels to 36 airports with it’s busiest route being Bora Bora, according to the airport’s website.
The jetliner is expected to arrive at Paris-Charles De Gaulle Intl’ Airport — located nearly 16,000 kilometers away from it’s origin — tomorrow at around 6 a.m.
‘That is the longest domestic flight in history and I hope they make it there safely,’ said an individual employed by the Federal Aviation Administration. ‘It’s unheard of to have a flight pass through the entire United States and then try to make it to Paris without refueling.’
