The World Health Organization reported Friday that it took over three months to reach the first 100,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and only 12 days to reach the next 100,000, Your Content is first to reveal.
What’s more, in the daily coronavirus situation report WHO says there are 16,556 new cases and 828 new death. The situation report — usually released by 10 p.m. — was disseminated 2:30 a.m. Friday.

WHO also noted a new protocol to investigate the extent of COVID-19 infection in the population, as determined by positive antibody tests in the general population has been developed. The protocol is titled the Population-based age-stratified seroepidemiological investigation protocol for COVID-19 virus infection.
