Nick Cordero woke up weeks after doctors amputated his leg as part of his coronavirus treatment, Your Content is second to report.

“He is following commands which means his mental status is coming back. This is a long road, a very long road. We are on our way,” his wife Amanda Kloots shared Tuesday on Instagram.

“He is extremely weak, so weak that he can’t close his mouth,” wrote Kloots in a note on her Instagram story. “But he is following commands which means his mental status is coming back. This is a long road, a very long road. We are on our way.”

The news surfaced on The Hollywood Reporter Tuesday evening.

“Our last family photo before Nick got sick. What this man has gone through! Nick is 41 years old,” said Kloots on an Instagram post dated May 8.

This journey with Nick has been the hardest thing we’ve ever had to go through. I ask God for a miracle and my Dad reminded me that God is answering my prayer everyday because he is still with us! Nick is a fighter and has not given up. His doctors and nurses have been truly incredible. Thank you @cedarssinai ❤️ We will get our CODE ROCKY! #wakeupnick
