BURGLARS kicked July 4 off with looting the mansion of comedian Ellen DeGeneres — making off with high value jewelry and watches, Your Content has learned.

What’s more, police believe their residence “targeted due to the victim’s celebrity status.”

TMZ was first to report the incident, noting the value of what was taken was withheld by authorities for investigative purposes.

The Sheriff’s Office says it’s working with other law enforcement agencies, as part of an extensive investigation, to see if this incident is connected to other recent celeb home burglaries.

It’s uncertain at this point if Portia or Ellen were home at the time of the break-in.
