President Donald Trump was abruptly pulled from coronavirus press briefing at White House moments ago after an individual was shot on 17th and Pennsylvania Avenue, Your Content has learned.
“This person was shot by the Secret Service,” President Trump said after returning to the podium. “We just found out right now. It was in this area right over here.”
Reporters in the briefing room indicated the room was being locked down, which is standard procedure when there is a security breach.
Police could be seen outside the press briefing area, which sits in the West Wing of the White House.
“I was not rattled. The world is a very dangerous place. I feel very safe with the Secret Service, they’re fantastic people. The best of the best – I don’t know if anybody got to walk outside but there were a lot of terrific looking people ready to go if something was necessary,” said President Trump. “People are the highest level of law enforcement; they just wanted me to step aside for a little while to make sure everything was clear outside.”
