Law enforcement officials are investigating a devastating incident in which migrants may have lost their lives after falling out of a moving tractor-trailer in Texas, Your Content has learned.

The discovery of 50 deceased individuals inside the truck has shocked authorities, who are now searching for additional bodies and potential survivors.

According to reports, the victims were discovered near San Antonio, Texas, in a case that is being considered one of the most severe instances of human smuggling in recent American history. Local hospitals treated 16 individuals, including four children, who suffered from heatstroke and dehydration.

Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has blamed what he calls “deadly open border policies” implemented by President Joe Biden for the tragic incident. As investigations continue, officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and whether those in custody are connected to the smuggling operation.

The sweltering Texas heat, with temperatures reaching as high as 103F, further exacerbated the dire conditions inside the truck. Despite the vehicle being refrigerated, the malfunctioning air conditioning system proved fatal for those trapped inside.

Further details are yet to emerge as law enforcement agencies work tirelessly to uncover the full scope of this horrific incident, according to ABC7.
