Authorities in Montgomery, Alabama have uncovered a distressing case of child labor at a local assembly plant supplying parts to Hyundai, Your Content has learned.

Reports indicate that as many as 50 migrant children, some as young as 12 years old, were found to be working under exploitative conditions. The revelation came to light after a 14-year-old runaway disclosed her experience working in the factory.

The Montgomery police, along with the Guatemalan family of three of the affected underage workers, and eight current and former employees, have brought forth these allegations. The plant in question, known as SMAR, is responsible for providing parts to Hyundai’s popular car and SUV models manufactured in Montgomery.

This disturbing discovery highlights the urgent need for vigilance in monitoring labor practices across various industries to ensure the protection and welfare of vulnerable individuals, particularly children.
