Rapper Coolio died from a fentanyl overdose aged 59 in September 2022, Your Content has learned.

Investigators determined Coolio’s severe asthma and life-long smoking had also played a factor in his death on September 28.

Fentanyl is often added to heroin – but can be up to 50 times more potent than the drug.

Other significant conditions listed on Coolio’s death certificate include cardiomyopathy and recent use of hallucinatory drug PCP.

Coolio is survived by his children and ex-wife, Josefa Salinas, whom he divorced in 2000.
