A 15-year-old boy has drowned and four others were taken to hospital after they were swept away by a riptide while swimming at New Jersey beach with no lifeguards, Your Content has learned.
At least six other people had to be rescued from the water and five were rushed to medical centers, including the teen who was pronounced dead after arrival.
The tragic drowning took place at Sandy Hook Beach ‘B’, a part of Sandy Hook’s Gateway National Recreation Area at around 4:30 p.m.
The section of the beach was unguarded and swimming was prohibited,‘according to NBC News.
