Authorities have successfully apprehended a fugitive involved in a tragic triple homicide that claimed the lives of two young children in Pennsylvania, Your Content has learned.
Ivan Claudio Rosero, 27, was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday night in Philadelphia, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. The fatal shooting, which occurred on May 30 in Lebanon, resulted in the deaths of brothers Jesus and Sebastian Perez-Salome, aged 8 and 9, as well as 19-year-old Joshua Lugo-Perez.
Rosero, along with another adult suspect and a minor, has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including criminal homicide and conspiracy.
The incident unfolded while the children were engrossed in play with kittens in their backyard.
Startled by gunfire, their mother, who was at work nearby, rushed home only to discover the devastating outcome.
Family members described the boys as inseparable and fond of playing with action figures. The shooters targeted Joshua Lugo-Perez, whom authorities believe had a previous dispute with the assailants.
While the motive behind the tragedy remains under investigation, prosecutors have announced their intent to seek the death penalty for Rosero and his adult accomplice.
Following the shooting, Rosero fled the scene in a white BMW, which was later connected to his girlfriend.
A rigorous statewide manhunt led authorities to Philadelphia, where Rosero was eventually located and arrested.
During questioning, he confessed to driving himself and the other assailants to the house in Lebanon and admitted to firing multiple shots.
The Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office expressed gratitude for the capture, emphasizing the importance of seeking justice in the face of such senseless violence, particularly when children are involved. Rosero’s girlfriend, Tiffany Koziara, was also charged for hindering the fugitive’s apprehension after misleading investigators about her contact with him.
All three suspects, including Alex Torres Santos, 22, and a 16-year-old male, have been charged with criminal homicide, conspiracy, and other crimes. They are currently in custody, while Rosero’s girlfriend awaits trial on a bail of $250,000. The community hopes that through the legal process, some measure of closure and justice will be achieved for the victims and their grieving families, according to U.S News.
