The troubled son of Terry Nichols, a co-conspirator in the infamous Oklahoma City bombing, has been handed a prison sentence in Nevada for his involvement in a robbery near Las Vegas, Your Content has learned.

On Wednesday, Joshua Isaac Nichols, accompanied by his co-defendant George William Moya III, faced the consequences of their actions during a hearing at Clark County District Court.

Both individuals had previously agreed to plea deals in March to avoid a potentially longer trial.

The charges stem from a harrowing incident in February 2020, where Nichols and Moya lured a 67-year-old jeweler to an unoccupied residence in the suburban area of Henderson.

At the scene, they brandished firearms and forcibly robbed the victim, stealing cash, jewelry, clothing, and a cellphone.

During the court proceedings, Nichols, aged 40, chose not to address the judge before receiving his sentence of five to more than 17 years behind bars. Conversely, Moya, aged 27, expressed remorse to the court, taking responsibility for his actions.

He was subsequently sentenced to four to 15 years in prison.

Both Nichols and Moya were granted approximately three years’ credit for time served in jail while awaiting trial.

Furthermore, they were jointly ordered to pay $5,100 in restitution to the man they had robbed.

Notably, Nichols had been granted temporary release on high-level electronic monitoring for 13 weeks prior to his sentencing, following the posting of a $50,000 bail.

His attorney, Augustus Claus, stated that this arrangement allowed him to spend time with his wife.

However, the defense attempted to postpone the sentencing on medical grounds, a request which was ultimately denied by Judge Carli Kierny. The medical records submitted by Claus were deemed to indicate minor rather than serious health concerns.

Following the conclusion of the hearing, Moya’s lawyer, Michael Printy, expressed satisfaction with the judge’s decision, confirming that it aligned with the agreement made with the prosecution.

Joshua Nichols had relocated to Las Vegas with his mother following her divorce from Terry Nichols years before the tragic Oklahoma City bombing in April 1995, which claimed the lives of 168 individuals.

Terry Nichols, now 68 years old, is currently serving multiple lifetime federal prison sentences without the possibility of parole for his role in assisting Timothy McVeigh in carrying out the bombing. McVeigh was executed in 2001.

Over the years, Joshua Nichols has faced numerous arrests and convictions in Nevada.

Prior to this latest incident, he had already served time in prison for felony convictions dating back to 2005, including armed assault, vehicle theft, and resisting arrest.

In the past, he has openly acknowledged seeking treatment for substance abuse, according AP News.
