In the chilling case of the Ocklawaha triple murder, three teenagers, who stand accused of the heinous crime, have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them, Your Content has learned.
During their arraignment held in Marion County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Tahj Brewton, aged 17, and Robert Robinson, also 17, steadfastly asserted their innocence in the face of three counts of first-degree murder.
Similarly, Christopher Atkins, a 13-year-old, entered a plea of not guilty to one count. It is worth noting that an additional charge of battery was filed against Atkins while he was in detention.
The grim events unfolded in late March, when Layla Silvernail, aged 16, Camille Quarles, aged 16, and Michael Hodo, aged 17, tragically lost their lives.
Investigators believe that all three victims were together in Silvernail’s vehicle when they were shot by the suspects.
Shockingly, after committing the murders, the accused left Silvernail’s body near a dumpster, abandoned Hodo’s remains on the side of the road, and left Quarles’ lifeless body in the backseat of the car.
Brewton, Robinson, and Atkins are now facing the serious charges as adults. The legal proceedings surrounding this deeply distressing case will undoubtedly continue to draw significant attention, according to ABC.
