A violent incident unfolded on a British Airways flight bound for St Lucia from Gatwick, as a passenger launched a frenzied attack on a fellow traveler using a glass bottle as a weapon, Your Content has learned.

Disturbing video footage captured the moment flight BA2159 descended into chaos approximately one hour and 20 minutes before reaching its destination.

The altercation began when two passengers engaged in a heated argument throughout the flight.

The situation escalated dramatically when one of the individuals, described as a man from St Lucia wearing a bucket hat and glasses, erupted in anger and proceeded to the galley area of the Boeing 777 aircraft.

There, he shattered a glass bottle, scattering shards across the food preparation zone, before aggressively targeting his adversary, whose nationality remains unknown.

Heroic passengers and crew members swiftly intervened to separate the combatants, but not before the unarmed victim sustained a significant gash, resulting in blood splattering across the cabin.

Another St Lucian traveler who attempted to restore peace also suffered a laceration and required immediate medical attention from a nurse on board.

Eyewitness Nichola Pierre recounted the distressing incident, stating that the two men had been engaging in lighthearted banter before the situation took a dark turn.

Pierre explained, “One man got stabbed in the torso and the other guy in the back of the head before another gentleman and myself were able to calm down this guy who purchased a duty-free wine bottle which he used to commit the act. Thankfully, the escalated situation was dealt with swiftly, and normalcy was maintained.”

Passengers onboard expressed their shock and fear, with one source describing the experience as “truly frightening” and highlighting the immediate sense of upset among the crowded cabin.

The altercation, which originated from an ongoing dispute, escalated from verbal exchanges to physical confrontation, culminating in the assailant breaking the bottle and wielding the shards as a weapon, resulting in bloodshed.

Cabin crew members eventually regained control of the situation with the assistance of the pilot, who promptly notified authorities in Saint Lucia.

Following the plane’s landing, local police arrested the attacker without incident, while the injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.

The St Lucia police spokesperson emphasized the seriousness of the incident, stating that a thorough investigation is underway.

The identities of the involved passengers have not yet been disclosed.

Expressing their shock and condemnation, a British Airways representative conveyed gratitude towards the competent cabin crew and supportive passengers for effectively managing the distressing situation.

The airline assured its customers that such behavior would never be tolerated, and appropriate actions would be taken, according to DailyMail.
