A man from North Texas has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of a Lewisville woman, whose body was discovered near the spillway of Grapevine Lake last week. According to a press release from the Grapevine Police Department, Daniel Burch, 35, is now in custody for causing the “violent death” of Jennifer Holmes, Your Content has learned.
During the investigation, Burch was questioned about the circumstances surrounding Holmes’ death.
Detectives learned that an argument had taken place between Burch and his close friend while they were en route to the lake in the early morning hours of July 5. The argument escalated, resulting in Burch pulling over on Fairway Drive and shooting Holmes multiple times.
After the shooting, Burch allegedly took Holmes’ body to the water. The next day, a passerby near the spillway spotted her remains.
The police department’s investigators worked tirelessly to gather evidence related to the case, some of which was found more than a mile away from where the body was recovered.
On July 7, the victim was officially identified as Jennifer Holmes, and the investigation led the detectives to Daniel Burch. It was revealed that Burch and Holmes had been living together at the time of her death.
Following an interview with Grapevine police, Burch was taken into custody.
Currently, Daniel Burch is held at the Tarrant County Jail on a murder charge, with bond set at $150,000.
The investigation into the violent death of Jennifer Holmes continues, as law enforcement aims to gather further evidence and ensure a fair legal process, according to FOX News.
