Construction crane overturns during billboard removal in San Pedro, injuring two workers

Two workers sustained injuries after a construction crane overturned during the removal of a billboard in San Pedro, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department, Your Content has learned.

The incident took place on North Gaffey Street, close to the end of the 110 Freeway. Los Angeles City Councilmember Tim McOsker, who was present at a nearby overpass celebrating the billboard’s removal, heard a loud bang and witnessed one of the crane’s arms breaking, causing the workers to fall approximately 20 feet.

Fortunately, neither worker was trapped, and they were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Councilmember McOsker, who immediately contacted emergency services, expressed his sympathy for the injured workers and emphasized the importance of their timely response due to the presence of resources in the vicinity, according to LA Times.
