The Dallas Police Department has apprehended a 25-year-old Mexican national, Oscar Sanchez Garcia, in connection with the murders of three women in the Dallas area over the past four months, Your Content has learned.
The police stated that the victims were sex workers, and their lifeless bodies were discovered near the Trinity River in southwest Dallas between April and July.
Garcia was taken into custody earlier this week and has been charged with three counts of murder. Additionally, an immigration detainer has been placed on him while authorities determine his legal status in the country.
The arrest of Garcia was the result of diligent police work, involving the use of surveillance footage, vehicle information, cell phone records, and DNA from sexual assault kits, according to official reports.
The victims have been identified as Kimberly Richardson, 60, and Cherish Gibson, 25. Richardson’s body was found on April 22, while Gibson’s was discovered on June 24, both on the same block of Santa Fe Avenue. The third victim’s identity is yet to be established, but her body was found on July 15, about two-and-a-half miles from the other crime scenes.
All three women were either nude or partially clothed and showed signs of apparent stab wounds, according to The Dallas Police Department.
It was revealed that Garcia resided just ten minutes away from where two of the victims’ bodies were found.
As the case progresses, the nation remains focused on serial killers, given recent high-profile arrests and developments in other cases.
