DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. (YC) – A stolen car drove through Ridley Twp., Delaware County on Sunday, leading police on a high speed chase.

According to Transit Police, a SEPTA employee was allegedly carjacked of his personal vehicle at 4th & Spring Garden in Philadelphia last night at knifepoint.

The suspect driving the stolen silver Dodge Challenger quickly realized driving a stolen car recklessly in Ridley was a bad move.

The suspect then committed an armed robbery early Sunday afternoon in New Jersey where police gave chase.

After successfully evading the police on his first pursuit, the vehicle wound up in Ridley Twp., prompting the involvement of various Delaware County police departments.

The chase started at 1:28 p.m. and ended in a South Philadelphia neighborhood at the intersection of 8th & Mercy.

The suspect crashed when he tried to turn left on 8th St. towards Snyder Ave, leaving minor damage to the vehicle before fleeing on foot.

The foot pursuit ended by a nearby playground at the intersection of 6th & Snyder Ave. where the suspect was apprehended by police.

This is a developing story — check back for updates.
