Developing: Fatal shooting in Nether Providence Monday

NETHER PROVIDENCE, DELAWARE COUNTY (YC – Pa.) – Police responded to an apparent murder-suicide Monday in Delaware County.

Just after 1:15 p.m., Nether Providence Police Department responded to the 900 block of South Providence Road for a report of a shooting in the parking lot of Carr Funeral Home.

Upon arriving, officers encountered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, one was deceased at the scene and the second was transported by ambulance to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland.

The second individual was pronounced dead a short time later at Crozer-Chester.

The incident is being investigated as a murder/suicide and the names of those involved are not being released at this time until proper notification can be made with family members.

The Nether Providence Police Department is being assisted with the investigation by the Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division and the Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office.
