Chester: 2 shootings leaves one person in critical condition and another wounded

Saturday gunfire left two victims of two separate shootings hospitalized in the City of Chester, one in critical condition.

The gunshots rang out just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday when officers responded to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for reports of a walk-in gunshot victim.

The victim, identified as 19-year-old Derrell Green was shot in his leg.

He told police he was in the area of Pulaski Park on the 800 block of Hinkson Street when he heard gunfire and began to run, not noticing he was shot until he felt pain in his calf.

Green was transported to Crozer by a family member.  He is listed in good condition at this time.

Just a few hours later on the 2800 block of West 3rd Street another man was wounded by gunfire, leaving him in critical condition.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Terrief Meeks was shot in the back of his head.

Paramedics arrived on location, and did transport the victim to Crozer Chester Medical Center, where he was treated further for his injuries.

The victim is listed in critical condition at this time.
