Chester, Pa. (YC) – Today during the City of Chester’s regularly scheduled Council Meeting, Officer Michael Canfield was promoted to the rank of Detective/Corporal.
Canfield was joined by his parents and sister.
“This is an opportunity to serve the community and the residents better and in a different capacity,” said Canfield. “I am honored and look forward to this next level of service in my career.”
The 10-year veteran will join the Detective’s Unit, bringing the total number of active detectives in the department to 11.
Canfield has been a police officer for eleven years, serving the City of Chester for ten.
Additionally, Canfield received a Life Saving Award in 2010 after responding to a house fire where he took part in getting four children out of the burning home.
