    Philadelphia woman struck by gunfire in Northeast

    NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – After hearing loud noises outside of her home, a woman noticed her screen window had been opened just after she got in bed. When she got up to close it, she noticed something alarming.

    The victim, identified as a 58-year-old Hispanic female victim was shot in the arm and upper chest.

    The in ident happened just after midnight Saturday on the 8500 block of Summerdale Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.

    The victim called 911 and was transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital by responding officers.

    After being treated at Aria she was transferred to Jefferson Hospital where she is now in stable condition.

    The investigation is active and ongoing with Philadelphia Police Northeast Detective Division.
