CHESTER CITY, Pa. (YC) — Police are investigating a shooting in Chester, Delaware County.

It happened at 8:50 a.m. Thursday at 9th and Engle streets.

Officers responded to the scene and found a teenage boy who had been shot in the chest.

According to preliminary reports, bullets came flying from an alleyway and struck the boy who was sitting in his backyard with his friend.

Medics rushed him to Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

Detectives remained at the shooting scene and were interviewing witnesses in an effort to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.
