A 31-year-old man was in the hospital Sunday following a shooting on the 400 block of Highland Avenue in Chester City, Delaware County.

The victim, identified as Leonard Green, told Chester City Police that he was outside of Peters Market when he heard gunshots erupt.

Moments later, he felt pain on his left leg and realized he had been shot.

He immediately ran inside Peters Market where he called the police and was subsequently transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
