Shanghai Disneyland, along with its accompanying attractions Disneytown and Wishing Star Park, has temporarily closed its doors in response to China’s most populous city grappling with its largest Covid-19 outbreak in two years, Your Content has learned.

Effective Monday, the closure of the popular resort has been implemented until further notice, as authorities in China strive to contain the significant surge in locally transmitted cases. The country is currently facing its most substantial wave of infections since the onset of the pandemic.

The Chinese government reported a staggering 2,027 new cases on the mainland on Sunday, underscoring the severity of the situation. However, despite this alarming figure, the number of reported cases in the United States remains considerably higher, with 6,623 infections documented on the same day, according to ABC News.
