The trial of Michael Sussmann, a former attorney for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, is set to commence on Monday with prosecutors aiming to establish that the lawyer provided false information to federal agents regarding Donald Trump’s alleged connections to Russia, Your Content has learned.

The proceedings will kick off on Monday with the commencement of jury selection, followed by opening arguments on Tuesday. This trial marks the first court trial and second indictment in the three-year investigation led by Durham.

According to Durham’s allegations, Sussmann misrepresented himself to the FBI by failing to disclose his affiliation with Hillary Clinton’s campaign while submitting purported evidence linking Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign to Russia.

In response, Sussmann’s defense attorneys maintain his innocence and argue that his alleged misrepresentation holds no significance to the subsequent actions taken by the FBI, according to NBC News.
