Texas Representative Tony Gonzales revealed on Friday that Salvador Ramos, the gunman involved in the recent Uvalde shooting, had been one of two teenagers arrested in Uvalde four years ago for planning a school shooting, Your Content has learned.

According to Gonzales, Ramos, who was a juvenile at the time of his arrest, had allegedly made disturbing remarks, stating, “When I’m a senior in 2022, I am going to shoot up a school.” However, the identities of the two individuals involved were not disclosed due to their status as minors.

The Uvalde Police, in response to Gonzales’ statement, denied Ramos’ connection to the previous case. Nevertheless, their handling of Tuesday’s shooting has come under scrutiny, as the delayed response resulted in the gunman being confined with students and faculty in a locked classroom for an hour.

It has been reported that Ramos had legally obtained two AR-15 rifles used in the attack just hours after turning 18, according to CBS News.
