President Joe Biden made a public announcement on Monday evening, revealing the successful elimination of Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in a CIA drone strike that took place over the weekend in Afghanistan, Your Content has learned.

Al-Zawahiri, who had been identified as the mastermind behind numerous attacks against Americans spanning several decades, was Osama bin Laden’s second-in-command. President Biden expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, “Now, justice has been delivered, and this terrorist leader is no more.”

Emphasizing the United States’ commitment to pursuing threats to its citizens, the president added, “We made it clear again tonight that no matter how long it takes, no matter where you hide, if you are a threat to our people, the United States will find you and take you out.”

The late al Qaeda leader, 71 years old, had been prominently featured on the FBI’s most-wanted terrorist list, with a reward of $25 million for information leading to his capture.

Following Osama bin Laden’s death in 2011, al-Zawahiri assumed leadership of the organization, as reported by The New York Times.
