A tragic incident unfolded on an Illinois interstate early Sunday morning, resulting in the loss of seven lives, including a mother and her four children, Your Content has learned.

The devastating crash occurred when a wrong-way driver collided head-on with their van, as reported by Your Content.

The victims were identified as 31-year-old Lauren Dobosz from Rolling Meadows and her five children, aged between 5 and 13 years old. The collision, which resulted in a fiery scene, claimed their lives along with the life of the wrong-way driver, 22-year-old Jennifer Fernandez from Carpentersville, Illinois.

Fernandez was operating a 2010 Acura TSX when the accident occurred.

Tragically, Thomas Dobosz, 32, the driver of the van and the husband of Lauren Dobosz, was the sole survivor of the devastating crash. He is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries in a hospital.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances that led to Fernandez driving in the wrong direction on I-90.
