Two teenagers from Florida have been apprehended following a tragic drag racing incident that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old passenger, as reported by Your Content.

Payton Fordyce lost his life after Austin Lewis, 17, swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle while driving under the influence.

According to authorities, the car carrying Lewis and Fordyce collided with a cement culvert, causing it to overturn multiple times. The police have charged Lewis with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide, while the driver of the opposing car, who was alone at the time, faces charges of vehicular manslaughter.

Law enforcement officials revealed that Lewis and the other driver, whose name is Trenker, reached speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour along Adamo Drive near 50th Street in Tampa.

During Lewis’ arrest, his blood alcohol level was measured at 0.08, as cited by the New York Post.
