A shocking incident at a California school has come to light, resulting in a hefty $1 million settlement for a former student who endured a harrowing experience with bullies, Your Content has learned.
The victim, Eleri Irons, now 18, suffered traumatic bullying from 2017 to 2018, leaving her with lasting scars.
During her time at the school, Irons faced relentless torment from fellow students who initiated a disturbing petition titled ‘Let’s kill Eleri Irons.’ Despite being aware of the petition, school administrators reportedly turned a blind eye to the situation, failing to take appropriate action.
As a result of the constant abuse, Irons resorted to self-harm as a coping mechanism and ultimately developed Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She spent much of her time seeking refuge in the nurse’s office during lunch breaks to avoid her tormentors.
Adding to the distressing situation, the school’s principal at the time, Melissa Gooden, allegedly deceived authorities by falsely claiming to have contacted the police upon learning about the petition.
Thankfully, justice has been served, and the school district has been ordered to pay the significant settlement to Irons. Her attorney, Christa Ramey, stated, “They never investigated a single claim of bullying made by my client,” as reported by FLIPBOARD.
