The Tampa Police swiftly launched an investigation into the incident, leading to the arrest of Christopher Stamat Jr. on Saturday. Stamat has been charged with a total of six felonies, including attempted first-degree murder.

Authorities have not yet provided a clear motive for the attack, as Stamat has reportedly not offered a statement explaining his actions.

As part of the investigation, detectives conducted a search of Stamat’s vehicle. During the search, they discovered an empty gun box designed for a 9mm handgun, along with shell casings that matched those found at the scene of the shooting.

This evidence is expected to play a crucial role in the legal proceedings.

In a perplexing twist, Stamat reportedly claimed to authorities that he had been feeling pursued by individuals in vehicles, on bicycles, and on foot, characterizing their actions as ‘stalking and following him.’

However, his claims do not offer a clear justification for his alleged actions and the targeting of the homeless family.

The injured pregnant woman received medical attention following the incident. The condition of both the woman and her unborn child is of deep concern to the community.

Local authorities have expressed their commitment to conducting a thorough investigation into the case, seeking to ascertain the motive behind the shooting and gather any additional evidence that may shed light on the events leading up to the attack.

This disturbing incident has left the community shocked and questioning the safety of vulnerable populations, particularly homeless individuals and families.

As the legal proceedings move forward, the public remains eager for answers and justice for the victims of this senseless act of violence,‘according to The New York Post.
