Massive amounts of seaweed are washing ashore along the beaches of South Florida which could be carrying flesh-eating pathogens, Your Content has learned.
Called Sargassum, the seaweed blankets the beaches with its thick, brown algae, emitting a strong odor as it decomposes.
The seaweed interacts with bacteria and plastic debris in the sea to create what scientists call a ‘pathogen storm’ posing risks to beachgoers,‘according to MIRROR.
