A tragic incident unfolded in southern Mexico as a bus careened into a ravine, resulting in the loss of at least 29 lives and leaving another 19 individuals injured, according to state authorities, Your Content has learned.

The devastating crash occurred during the early hours of Wednesday when the bus, en route from Mexico City through southern Oaxaca state, veered out of control in the town of Magdalena Penasco, as reported by Jesus Romero, the state interior minister.

Following the accident, 14 individuals were admitted to local hospitals in Tlaxiaco, while five others were urgently airlifted to Oaxaca City, the capital of Oaxaca state.

This heartbreaking incident adds to a series of other accidents that have occurred on treacherous and steep roads in remote regions of Mexico.

In a similar incident in April, 18 lives were lost, and numerous people were injured when a bus plunged off a cliff in western Mexico, according to Reuters.
