Wilmington, Delaware, police have charged Timothy Olschafskie, a 30-year-old from Ansonia, Connecticut, with the murder of a 21-month-old girl, following her death earlier this year.

The charge of murder by neglect was filed after an incident on March 11. Wilmington police responded to a call at around 9:29 a.m. from the 100 block of Town Estates Drive, reporting a toddler experiencing a medical emergency.

Officers who arrived at the scene rushed the child to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Following an in-depth investigation, authorities deemed the child’s death a homicide. This led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Olschafskie.

Olschafskie was apprehended in Enfield, Connecticut, and extradited back to Delaware on November 14 to face charges. Currently, Olschafskie is detained at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. He is awaiting his trial, held on a cash-only bail set at $2,000,000.
