Pickens, South Carolina witnessed a massive gathering on Saturday as thousands of people eagerly assembled to listen to Former President Donald Trump’s address.
The crowd began forming as early as 4:45 a.m., steadily growing throughout the morning.
This event marked a celebration of Independence Day and provided an opportunity for Trump to engage with first-in-the-South voters, as well as state lawmakers and esteemed guests.
Highlighted Speaker Lineup: The event kicked off at 11 a.m. with an array of guest speakers, accompanied by a captivating performance from the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir. The distinguished lineup included:
- Governor Henry McMaster, South Carolina’s Governor
- Senator Lindsey Graham, United States Senator for South Carolina
- Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, South Carolina’s Lieutenant Governor
- Treasurer Curtis Loftis, South Carolina’s Treasurer
- Rep. William Timmons, U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 4th District
- Rep. Russell Fry, U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 7th District
- Hon. André Bauer, Former Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina
- 9 a.m.: Doors open for attendees
- 11 a.m.: Guest speakers commence their remarks
- 1 p.m.: Former President Donald Trump takes the stage to address the crowd
Important Security Measures: To ensure the safety of the event, the Secret Service mandated the closure of businesses and buildings situated in the secure area along E. Main, stretching from Hwy 178/Pendleton St. to Legacy Square.
These closures were in effect from Saturday, July 1, until 3 p.m. Other businesses and buildings on Main Street were permitted to operate according to their regular schedules during the July 1 event, according to WYFF.
